What is the shelf life of SimplyThick EasyMix?
The product is safe to use for 12 months after its manufacture date, either opened or unopened shelf life. There is no reason to discard product up to and including this date.
We print the “Best If Used By” date on every package of SimplyThick EasyMix.
After 12 months, there is not a safety concern, but the product may not thicken as efficiently, and you may need to use more to achieve the same thickness. Fortunately, the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative provides a simple testing method to ensure any beverage you have prepared is the correct thickness.
How should SimplyThick EasyMix be stored?
SimplyThick EasyMix should be stored in a cool dry place. Ideal condition is temperatures between 68-78 degrees F and 45% RH (relative humidity) year-round.
Once mixed, how long can a beverage sit at room temperature?
Mixing SimplyThick EasyMix with a beverage does not cause a change in the basic characteristics of the beverage. General food safety and hygiene practices still apply. Therefore, keep a beverage at room temperature for as long as you normally would. As a general food safety practice, after a few hours at room temperature, the beverage should be discarded.
How long can I keep containers of beverages thickened with SimplyThick EasyMix?
The stability of the thickness will not be an issue, but after 48-72 hours we recommend that the beverage be discarded as a general food safety practice.
